Tomorrow I'll be visiting 3 middle schools in Moore, Oklahoma as part of a support / fundraising effort for the kids and schools that were affected by the tornadoes that blasted through this area in May.
By visiting, I don't mean sauntering through. Or just clicking through a slide presentation. I want to connect with these kids and their teachers and what they've gone through, which means I'll wind up being emotional and spastic and exhausted by the end of the day.
Which means I should go to bed right now because I'm in a different time zone and I've got a super-early start time in the morning.
But I will be back with more, and hope to have a picture or two to share.
'Til then, good night from Oklahoma!

Have fun in Oklahoma! I just had three emotional weekends at three camps and that was very emotional, but I am guessing that your time in Oklahoma is going to be more emotional, so have fun! It is always good to have a good cry!

Looking forward to more from Moore. Hope your visit goes well. Let us know if there's anything that they need/want that we might be able to help with.
I my goodness I totally love those guest speaker guys that get all out of breath trying to entertain us it's great I love it!
I think I'm one of the youngest who follows this blog regularly (I'm in 7th grade) , so it doesn't take much to entertain us at my school!
And here we all know how lucky those kids in Moore are!!;)
Hi Wendelin,I am Jordan, you might not remember me but I was at the book signing on 9/30. Better known as today. I go to Brink Junior High, you asked me "What sports do you play?" I responded "Track and soccer." then you asked "What section do you specialize in, in track?" I then responded back with "I run the 400 meter." and you said "Oh, that's what both Jessica (the main character in the running dream) and I run.) I was also at the panel of authors later that night at Norman North. I just wanted to say thank you for supporting Oklahoma, and more specifically, Moore. I love your books and you are a great author, again, for coming to Brink, and I look forward to seeing you again.
Ha see I told you!
Welcome Jordan!! That's really cool that you run, I think you will really like it here
Thanks Bella, I have been living here all my life though.
Whoa. I'm just checking in with my Blog buddies before hitting the hay and to my surprise there were comments and a very cool one from Jordan. Yes, I remember you! And it was great being at all the schools today and then doing the author panel tonight. I am SOOOO tired now (I give a rather, uh, spirited presentation, and I did 3 plus the evening event on not much sleep.) So good night all! More tomorrow, I hope!
I am so jealous of Oklahoma... sigh. Do you by chance do high school visits? Maybe... Well you should. Actually if you come to any school near me i will probably enroll in there just to see you. COME TO SACRAMENTO.
And hello Jordan sigh you are so lucky.

Hi Wendelin, im going to a book signing on the 23rd of October, the author of the book series, "Divergent" ( Veronica Roth ) will be the author that I will be meeting. I was wondering in the "World of Awesome Authors" ( you make up one of it's inhabitants )knew one another. If all great authors keep in touch with each other, which ones have you met/spoken to ( via email, text message, etc. ). Also, on a completely un-related note, can you tell me what your future plans for the books that you might write/are writing?
Also, yes! I agree, you give a "spirited presentation". It's better than a boring presentation. Hopefully I'm not bothering you with all my questions, but, how often do you check your blog? ( so I know when to check back for replies )
Just finished reading up on p vs np, there is a REASON why people offer a million dollars for the corect solution. Because it takes literally years to compute and then verify your answer, just so you can say yes this is a formula that is faster to compute on a computer than it is to verify, or to say no, its not. also, the problem was brought up in 1971, and still has not been answered correctly. but here's the funny part about it, no one even knows what the correct answer to it is. I think that they aren't at risk of losing a million bucks any time soon.
