Popping up briefly to share that this week I went underground "on assignment." I'll connect with you next Sunday. Sorry this message terminates here. Hope you don't mind the gap! (Any guesses?)
(So I know where you went but I won't say anything because I still want to give people a chance to guess.)
I can't believe you went there! I so want to go there. This guys nemesis has the same personality trait as I do. I actually adore the person that place you went to is about, if that makes sense. To be honest I am a little obsessed with them.
Okay that paragraph didn't make much sense, but maybe some will understand it.
Sherlock Homes...? Well, I'll have to wait, huh? Oh, well, but this'll be interesting. It also reminds me of Clue, at some point. Haha, remember Sk clue? Billy! At school! In his chicken hat! Sammy! At the dance! With Casey! Ahh, that was cute.
I know! Cuz i might have done some research haha. Wow how are you way ou there thats so cool! Typical detectives swarms together :) Sherlock Holmes is really interesting i hope your having fun where you are! :) Cant wait for next weeks post. --Yusa
I was refreshing yesterday but somehow the page was scrolled down some, so I didn't see the new post!
I found 4 (maybe 5) of the clues in the text. What's the assignment? Will we have to wait for it to be announced on the tube? That wall looks quite old, like it belongs in a museum -- or maybe it's just coated in wax. Still, the picture is so clear it looks like you stood still as a statue when you took it. Oh, I've got to go -- someone is calling, and that telephone is making an awful clash.
Hope you're having fun on your little adventure -- since you already finished Kiss Goodbye, I know this isn't SK-related, but maybe it's related to a new project? Or maybe you're just having a fun vacation. Either way, can't wait to find out more when you're able/willing to tell us.
I know where you're at! I looked it up on the Internet with some interesting key words. I've never read Sherlock Holmes or anything, but that's pretty cool you went there Wendelin. :)
I'm guessing....! Yo are so lucky!I've never read the books, but man the movies are great! I hope you had fun! The hint was useful, thanks! Must be so fun to go there!
Ahhh! This is driving me crazy! But I'm having fun here guessing!=) I'm still not sure.... But I will keep trying I'm sure I can figure it out before next week...=)
Haha of course 5 minuets after i post that I figure it out!!=) Wow that must have been so fun! A great adventure to! I'm sure you had a lot of fun!!!=)
I've had that Clash song in my head all day now. Get it out! It's terrible because I only know a single line of the lyrics, so that's the part on repeat.
Oh that is annoying! Like I wasn't born when Wizard of Oz was made, but I got one part a song stuck in my head. Though I'm not even sure if I sang it correctly, haha. Oh, well. O.O
I have a song from the movie "She's the man" stuck in my head, except it is only the beat part. Not the lyrics. So now I am thinking along to the beat of the song.
At first I was thinking, ‘So where are the clues?’ and then realized, ‘Waaaiit a minute, there are five sentences!’ And then the phrasing of the last one wigged the front of my brain and the other four jumped out in a very Sammy-like click-click-click-click.
(I suppose one could just enter the picture into Google’s photo search, but that would be cheating.)
Wondering what “on assignment” means.... Hope you’re having fun!
I know you’ve finished the first draft of the last Sammy, but that’s far enough away that it’s conceivable you would make an imperfectly timed trip, so I’m having fun imagining what Sammy would be doing there.
Actually, that’s easy: Sammy would be snooping around and uncovering trouble and being amused by the policemen. The real question is, how would Sammy be there?
Currently I’m trying to get work songs out of my head -- the same CD loops for hours and hours and it’s not something I would choose to listen to, sigh.
Thinking along to the beat of the song sounds fun.
I like how we've all tried to indicate we know exactly where she is by dropping clues of our own so we don't spoil it for anyone else. We're like fish from the same pond.
I tried to replace the Clash song (I looked up the lyrics, and they're pretty nonsensical) with one about certain Werewolves (which is nearly as nonsensical), but that got "Sweet Home Alabama" in my head because they were both sampled in a third song.
While confirming that I wasn't finding imaginary connections between songs (which I do a lot -- if a 3-note progression anywhere in the two songs is similar, my brain will recognize it, even if that's the only similarity), I learned about the origins of "Sweet Home Alabama." Lynyrd Skynyrd are from Jacksonville, Florida and recorded the song in the Atlanta metro area (I guess Florida and Georgia both had too few syllables). And the band chose its name as a mocking tribute to their high school P.E. teacher who hassled boys about having long hair.
At least reading all that got all 3 songs out of my head, for now. I guess I should be glad that my brain gets as sidetracked as Sammy's feet.
Okay, so I'm still jealous. Anyways, this is off topic, but I have to ask you, Wendelin, What font size do you use for your books? And what's your 'writing process'? Like do you do the draft, then re-write, or what? Please, please, please answer!
Also- Hint for those who haven't figured out where Wendelin is: Underground.

Got it!
Wendelin, I love how your brain works.
